Counselor

I am honored to join Rise Academy for the upcoming school year and look forward to
partnering with our students and families. With 20 years of experience in the field of
education, my career includes four years of classroom instruction within Selma City
Schools, followed by 16 years as a dedicated school counselor serving Troy City
Schools and Montgomery Public Schools. Additionally, I bring 10 years of specialized
experience in mental health through my work with BB&H Wellness.

My professional approach is to foster empathetic connections with the families I serve. I
am passionate about cultivating safe, supportive environments where every student
feels heard, empowered, and equipped to achieve their full potential. Throughout my
tenure, I have remained committed to assisting individuals as they navigate emotional,
behavioral, and academic challenges, providing warm and practical guidance grounded
in evidence-based practices and developmental science.
My husband Corey and I are the proud parents of three children. As a family, we deeply
value education and are eager to contribute to the continued success and growth of the
Rise Academy school community!
